Still, more say all-female groups have a positive impact on women\u2019s well-being (67%) than say the same about the impact of male-only groups on men (56%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In thinking about the impact these types of groups have on <em>society<\/em>, a majority of Americans (57%) say that all-female social groups have a very or somewhat positive effect; a smaller share (43%) say the same about all-male groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"differences-by-gender\">Differences by gender<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Men and women both see more benefits in all-female groups than in all-male groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"among-men\">Among men<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>63% of men say all-female groups have a positive impact on women\u2019s well-being; 57% say all-male groups have a positive impact on men\u2019s well-being.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>55% say all-female groups have a positive impact on society overall; 47% say the same about all-male groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"among-women\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Among women<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>71% of women say all-female groups have a positive impact on women\u2019s well-being; 56% say all-male groups have positive impact on men\u2019s well-being.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>59% say all-female groups have a positive impact on society overall; 39% say the same about all-male groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"differences-by-party\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Differences by party<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Republicans and Democrats have different views on the impact of same-gender social groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-420-wide\"><a href=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/?attachment_id=197355\"><img data-dominant-color=\"f4f3f3\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #f4f3f3;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/01\/ST_2025.1.16_social-connections_3-02.png?resize=480,529 480w, https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/01\/ST_2025.1.16_social-connections_3-02.png?resize=782,862 782w, https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/01\/ST_2025.1.16_social-connections_3-02.png?resize=840,926 840w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 480px, (max-width: 782px) 782px, 640px\" height=\"463\" width=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2025\/01\/ST_2025.1.16_social-connections_3-02.png?w=420\" alt=\"Chart shows Republicans more likely than Democrats to say all-male social groups are good for men and for society\" class=\"wp-image-197355 not-transparent\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By double-digit margins, larger shares of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents than Democrats and Democratic leaners say that all-male social groups have a positive impact on men\u2019s overall well-being (63% vs. 50%) and on society (50% vs. 37%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In turn, more Democrats than Republicans say that all-female social groups benefit both women\u2019s overall well-being (72% vs. 65%) and society (64% vs. 53%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are some notable differences by gender within each party. Democratic women are the most likely to say that all-female groups are beneficial for women and society. For example, 76% of Democratic women say all-female groups have a positive impact on women\u2019s overall well-being. This compares with 70% of Republican women, 67% of Democratic men and 60% of Republican men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In turn, Republican men are the most likely to say all-male groups have a positive impact on society \u2013 54% say this, compared with 45% of Republican women, 40% of Democratic men and only 34% of Democratic women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were also interested in learning how the public feels about same-gender organized social groups or places where men can gather with other men and women with other women.
