In fact, a counter trend seems to have emerged with slightly more French people saying that immigration from the Middle East and North Africa is a good thing than did so a year ago. The French public is also more inclined this year to say that Muslims living in France want to adopt French customs — a view held by an overwhelming majority of Muslims in France. Nor do German and British publics express any increase in negative views of immigrants — although, unlike the French, they are not more welcoming to immigrants this year. Meanwhile, the Spanish public’s view toward immigrants has grown slightly more negative over the last year. Read More

That’s the share of the French public that now judges immigration into France from the Middle East and North Africa to be a good thing — an increase over the 53% who said so a year ago before the riots by Muslim youth.

[791
[467
[515
["post-18562","short-read","type-short-read","status-publish","hentry","bylines-pew-research-center-staff","formats-short-read","regions-countries-united-states
https://beta.pewresearch.org/pewresearch-org/short-reads/2006/10/27/no-anti-muslim-backlash-in-france/
That's the share of the French public that now judges immigration into France from the Middle East and North Africa to be a good thing -- an increase over the 53% who said so a year ago before the riots by Muslim youth.
