Nor is it much easier for those seeking ways to make money off online activities &#8212; they&#8217;re changing almost too fast to keep up with.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the folks at Quartz, the \u00a0business-news site from Atlantic Media, have given it a good shot. They pulled together data from Intel, investment bank GP Bullhound, and a Facebook-led consortium called Internet.org to create this <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/150861\/a-snapshot-of-one-minute-on-the-internet-today-and-in-2012\/\">neat summation<\/a> of what happens in a minute on six of the Web&#8217;s biggest services &#8212; and how that&#8217;s changed in just one year:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<figure><a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/150861\/a-snapshot-of-one-minute-on-the-internet-today-and-in-2012\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"minute_internet\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.pewresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2013\/11\/minute_internet.png\" width=\"587\" height=\"245\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s another way of looking at the same numbers:<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.pewresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2013\/11\/minute_Internet2.png\"><img data-dominant-color=\"e9e2e9\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #e9e2e9;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"590\" height=\"251\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2013\/11\/minute_Internet2.png?resize=480,204 480w, https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2013\/11\/minute_Internet2.png?resize=590,251 590w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 480px, (max-width: 782px) 782px, 640px\" class=\"wp-image-29669 not-transparent\" alt=\"minute_Internet2\" src=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2013\/11\/minute_Internet2.png\" ><\/a><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part of the reason each &#8220;internet minute&#8221; is busier is, simply, because more people are online: 2.75 billion, or 38.8% of the global population, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/ITU-D\/Statistics\/Documents\/publications\/mis2013\/MIS2013_without_Annex_4.pdf\">International Telecommunication Union<\/a>.
