When it comes to independents, Ryan does not fare well: 42% regard him as an \u201conly fair\u201d or \u201cpoor\u201d choice compared to 30% who regard his selection as \u201cexcellent\u201d or \u201cgood.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, independents are even more negative on Joseph Biden when they are asked to rate the job he has done as Vice President. Nearly six-in-ten (59%) say he has done an \u201conly fair\u201d or \u201cpoor\u201d job compared to 22% who give him positive marks.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, the public seems to be lukewarm to Ryan: 46% regard Romney\u2019s VP pick as \u201conly fair\u201d or \u201cpoor\u201d compared to 28% who rate it as \u201cgood\u201d or \u201cexcellent.\u201d The same holds true for Biden, only more negative: 56% of Americans overall say he has done an \u201conly fair\u201d or \u201cpoor\u201d job while one-in-four consider his performance \u201cexcellent\u201d or \u201cgood.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.pewresearch.org\/pewresearch-org\/politics\/2012\/08\/21\/medicare-voucher-plan-remains-unpopular\/\">Read More<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A plurality of independents (42%) rate Mitt Romney\u2019s choice of Rep.
